Resolution: In Memory of Edward Leon, Jr.

WHEREAS Brother Edward Leon, Jr. had served loyally and faithfully with the Alliance Los Angeles Lodge for over 39 years and as lodge president in 1989 and 1990;

WHEREAS Brother Leon, was active with the Kiwanis and served on the Board of Directors of the L.A.C.A.C.A. Community Action until his passing;

WHEREAS Brother Leon was a Los Angeles Lodge Grand Representative and served as a delegate at Alliance convention's Grand Council;

WHEREAS Brother Leon served in the United States Navy as an Electrical Technician and was stationed in San Diego on the U.S.S. Prairie;

WHEREAS Brother Edward Leon, Jr. served 38 years with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power until 1988 and then joined the City Bureau of Contract Administration as a Construction Inspector and remained with them for 24 years until his passing;

WHEREAS Brother Leon was a constant source of wisdom and encouragement, giving generously of his leadership, expertise, time and other resources;

WHEREAS the passing of Leon created a void within the Chinese American Citizens Alliance and the Chinese American community which will be difficult to fill;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Grand Council, in memory of Brother Edward Leon, Jr. present a plaque to his loved ones in recognition of his long and dedicated service to the Chinese American Citizens Alliance, the Chinese American community, and the United States of America.
