WHEREAS on April 13, 2012, President Elaine Wong of the Phoenix Lodge led a delegation to pay a visit with Arizona Congressman Trent Franks regarding his possible support of House Resolution 282 to express regret for the passage of the Chinese Exclusion Law which was incompatible with the founding principles of the Constitution; and
WHEREAS this bill was renamed as House Resolution 683; and
WHEREAS H. Res. 683 was introduced in the 112th Congress on June 8, 2012 by Congresswomen Judy Chu of California; and
WHEREAS as result of this a total of 20 cosponsors was added to this bill; and
WHEREAS on June 12, 2012, a motion was made and it was agreed to without objection; and
WHEREAS it is of the wish of this lodge that Grand Lodge recognize the success of this resolution and commemorate this milestone by proposing a suitable situation to this cause;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Grand Lodge establish a study task force with various key lodge members through electronic means (e-mail) to prepare and establish reasonable timelines and appropriate avenues of events or awards on an annual basis.
